A driver struck and killed a pedestrian in a Brooklyn incident that has left Fourth Avenue closed in both directions.

Around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, a motorist struck a pedestrian on Fourth Avenue in the Greenwood Heights neighborhood, ABC7 has reported.

After striking the victim, the driver allegedly fled the scene on foot, and police were looking for him, according to ABC7, which added that authorities said he ran east on Fourth Avenue.

Authorities have closed Fourth Avenue in both directions as they continue to investigate, ABC7 added.
