A rooftop bar is traditionally not your go-to for a green juice after midnight. In fact, that wasn’t even an option anywhere in the city, until now:You can get a Liquiteria juice, alongside an order of 2nd Avenue Deli’s corned beef on rye, at Mr. Purple, thenew indoor-rooftop bar on the 15th floor ofHotel Indigo.
The massive bar, which accomplishes the look of a loft that’s both cozy and upscale, covers over 8,000 square feet including a terrace, so take advantage of that while winter dawdles. The menu of reasonably priced bar farefeatures items by other Lower East Side standouts including Russ & Daughters and il laboratorio del gelato, as well as mussels ($18), wings ($12) and the obligatory fried chicken sandwich ($15).
At the bar, spirits tend toward small-batch and there are few regional craft beers on tap — plus a whole section of the menu devoted to sidecar pairings.Open all week until 4 a.m., 180 Orchard St.
