The Giants let go of defensive coordinator Perry Fewell Wednesday, calling the move a restructuring of their defensive coaching staff, according to ESPN.
New York allowed the fourth most yard per game in the NFL in 2014.
Fewell, who has been with the Giants since 2010, had a big hand in the Giants’ 21-17 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

Defensive backs coach Peter Giunta was also let go by the organization.
"These are two outstanding men and outstanding football coaches," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said in a statement, via ESPN. "It is very hard in this business to find people that are not only good football coaches but outstanding human beings who are trustworthy, loyal and honest. Perry and Peter are all that."
