Love him, hate him, think he’s Canton-bound or going to pan out as a dud, no one gives a halftime speech like Jameis Winston. No one.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback and former Florida State legend was on-hand Monday night for his alma mater’s season opener against Ole Miss in Orlando. With the Seminoles dragging in the first half and down on the scoreboard, Winston gave a brief halftime speech, one which included an audience of some of his former teammates.
Winston was dogged by legal issues off the field at Florida State but a notorious winner on the field. His locker room speeches at Tallahassee became the stuff of legend. What he said on Monday night was pretty special.
“We some dogs, we ain’t no puppies,” Winston said in one portion of the clip.
“We some dogs.”
He then went on to single-out certain positions and teammates who needed to step up.
The clip was captured by the cameras on-hand to shoot ‘A Season with Florida State Football’ which premieres Tuesday, Sept. 6 on SHOWTIME.

Florida State rallied in the second half for a 45-34 win over their SEC opponent. Plenty of bite in these dogs, apparently.
