A man in search of a job reportedly hurled a shot glass at a Mexican restaurant manager who told the applicant he wasn’t hiring.
The man is said to have used a homophobic slur before throwing the small glass at El Centro at 824 Ninth Ave.
“Are you afraid someone is going to come in and kill the f—s?” the assailant allegedly yelled at the 34-year-old manager on June 12.
The incident happened hours after a gunman opened fire inside a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people and injuring more than 50 others. It was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
A manager told DNAinfo that the restaurant had never experienced an incident like that in the past. “We’re a very gay friendly restaurant [and] neighborhood,” he said.
No one was injured by the shot glass, according to police.
