Usually agents in the sports world don’t have the best reputation but at least one has done well enough to earn the attention of the greatest city in the world.

Remy Cherin, a FIFA-licensed soccer agent, was commended by New York City on Thursday for his work in the community both as a businessman in the sports world but also away from the playing fields. His clients include Connor Lade of the New York Red Bulls, Jack Harrison of New York City FC as well as United States national team midfielder Mix Diskerud and legendary Spanish midfielder Marcos Senna.

A Boston University graduate, Cherin was honored on Thursday with a citation from the City Council of New York, a document that hailed him as “an outstanding citizen, one whom is worthy of the esteem of both our community and the great city of New York.” The citation was signed by council member Helen Rosenthal, a council member from New York’s sixth district.
