The FDNY and NYPD responded to a car fire that caused delays in Lower Manhattan during Wednesday morning’s commute, the New York Daily News reported.
The car caught fire in the Battery Park Underpass, which runs under the Staten Island Ferry terminal, resulting in major delays on the FDR Drive.
In a tweet, Notify NYC stated there had been a vehicle collision in the underpass tunnel. A photo of the fire shows a car fully engulfed in flames just inside the tunnel.
