Police are investigating the death of an 89-year-old woman in Brooklyn who died from the injuries after she was struck by a fellow octogenarian driver this week.
Police said Wai Lee, of Brooklyn, was crossing the street around 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coney Island Avenue and Quentin Road when the driver — not named by police as he is not charged with a crime — accelerated forward and struck her.
Authorities said the driver was attempting to parallel park his Toyota Camry but accidentally sped forward when he intended to drive in reverse, striking the woman. He remained at the scene until police and EMS arrived.
