Mateer, who is a student at Queens College, was visiting Penn State when the alleged attack occurred.
“[I] got the living s**t kicked out of me. The brother admitted that he hated gays. Proceeded to kick the s**t out of me.” Mateer explained in a tweet.
Mateer has since filed a report with the police.
According to the New York Daily News, Penn State released a statement condemning the attack writing: “Violence in any form is repulsive and hurtful, and those responsible should and will be held accountable for their actions."
Additionally the Daily News reports that State College police have confirmed the alleged attacker is not a member of any Penn State fraternity, and would not name the attacker.
