Workers have stopped the oxygen leak at Mount Sinai West Hospital, NBC reported, but portable oxygen tanks were expected to be used until permanent repairs could be made to the damaged line.

The emergency roomwas evacuated, and incoming patients were diverted to other hospitals, CBS reported in a related article, also stating that police have closed 59th Street between 9th and 10th avenues.

Concern that the leak was affecting oxygen needed in the hospital caused a large emergency presence on Friday morning, NBC stated.

The jumper was pronounced dead at the scene, but police are still trying to determine from where he jumped, CBS added.
