A man allegedly tried to pimp out a young boy — who he claimed was his son—to a tourist taking a walk in Central Park Thursday night.

At about 11:50 p.m. the suspect, who had been accompanied by a boy around 11 years old, allegedly walked up to the 50-year-old tourist while on Bow Bridge over Central Park Lake, according to the New York Daily News.

The man allegedly told the tourist that he was the young boy’s father and offered oral sex from the child for $300.

The California man declined the offer, followed the man and boy for a short time and then decided to call the police, NBC4 New York reported.

Police officers arrived a few minutes later but by that time the two were gone.

According to NBC, police were investigating inside the Manhattan park on Friday morning and are searching for the duo by ground and air.

The man is described as white, about 35 years old and with dark hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black coat with a fur hood, the Daily News reported.

Police said the child was wearing an orange or red spring coat.
