The Mets are 1-0 on the season thanks to the sloppy play of the Nationals. The Mets won, 3-1, Monday in D.C..

Washington’s Max Scherzer was phenomenal, owning a no-hitter into the sixth, but the Mets took advantage of a pair of errors by Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond to grab the Opening Day win in D.C..

Lucas Duda’s two-run single with two outs in the sixth inning gave the Mets a 2-1 lead and Travis d’Arnaud’s RBI triple in the seventh gave New York insurance.

Bartolo Colon was terrific for the Mets, allowing just one earned run on three hits in six innings of work.
