The knock on the Mets heading into this season was that they had the pitching to be a contender, but lacked a potent lineup. Jay Bruce will help that issue, for sure.
The Mets agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Reds Monday, sending 23-year-old outfielder Brandon Nimmo and other prospects to the midwest in exchange for Bruce, according to ESPN. Bruce leads the National League in RBIs this season with 80 and has 25 home runs.
The deal is not yet finalized, according to ESPN reports.
