In case you haven’t felt the panic building, this Friday is one of those falling on the month’s (otherwise not-dreaded) 13th day. At least the nerds will enjoy it.

ThinkGeek, the Internet’s resource for Star Wars tauntaun sleeping bags and Game of Thrones dragon egg cookie jars, is coming to the real NYC on Friday at 9 a.m., when it opens in the lower level of the Gamestop store at 1282 Broadway (at 33rd Street). The loot will be a mix of casual geekwear like Captain America backpacks up to limited edition props from shows like The Walking Dead.

So if you also believe “‘Star Wars or Star Trek?’ is a meaningful first date question,” then you’ve got until Friday to find someone who takes your side. Costumes are, of course, welcome on opening day (the 501st Legion will put in an appearance to keep things Orderly); expect swag giveaways. And World of Warcraft fans, mark your calendars for June 24 when the store hosts a themed cosplay and trivia night.
