NYC dominates 2015 James Beard Award winners list

NYC fancies itself the best city in every way, but at least when it comes to food there’s nowhere else in America that comes close.

Last night’s 2015 James Beard Awards were held in Chicago, but the majority of the medals are coming back east, where everyone’s favorite Crack Pie baker Christina Tosi was named Outstanding Pastry Chef, Tribeca’s white-hot BâtardBest New Restaurant, and Michael Anthony, who just reopened a reimagined Untitled at the new Whitney Museum, won Outstanding Chef for his decade-long tenure at Gramercy Tavern.

Alas, there’s no online footage yet of Alton Brown’s musicaltribute to meat to the tune of “The Beat Goes On,” but we all know that’s only a matter of time.
