Warm weekends are coaxing us out for brunch, but until now, there’s not been a proper showdown to find the city’s best late breakfast-early lunch dish.
That will be corrected this Wednesday, when The Village Voice holds its first Brunch Eats showdown aboard the Intrepid museum, with more than 20 restaurants tempting your sleepy tastebuds to wake up to German shredded pancakes with mascarpone cream and seasonal fruit (Edi & The Wolf) and duck carnitas on a corn bun with Negra Modelo Morita salsa (The Black Ant).

And what's brunch without cocktails — mimosas, Bloody Marys and even coffee will be served. The event goes from 8-11 p.m.; tickets start at $60.
