The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to find a man who lured a 10-year-old girl with special needs into his car, then dropped her off unharmed an hour later.
Police said in a statement that the girl was walking to school near her home on 102Street when she was approached by a man who identified himself as a friend of the family and offered to drive her to school.
“What beautiful shoes you have!” He allegedly told her, per New York Daily News.
The girl consented and entered the car. Her grandfather was in the area and saw her enter the car, but couldn’t intervene in time, police said.
