The fashion police are on patrol.
While New Yorkers were concerned about whether their shortalls matched their espadrilles, the NYPD’s 24th Precinct dished out fashion advice with a side of safety tips. The precinct tweeted a picture of a woman with a fanny pack, showing how though the accessory can be a faux-pas to your style, you can at least ensure it won’t infringe on your safety.
Summer=crowds. Protect your stuff. We @ 24 r not the fashion police but fanny packs present a special case. pic.twitter.com/OuyuaTL33U

Other precincts put in their fashion-forward two cents. The NYPD 25th Precinct compared the fanny pack spotting to the crocodile found roaming the streets by the 34th Precinct in Upper Manhattan Friday.
@NYPD24Pct Fanny pack? Really? Better chance of seeing an alligator cross 9th Ave! @NYPD34Pct
