Police officials said Monday they remained on alert after a new video surfaced over the weekend calling on Islamic State supporters to target police officers, soldiers and civilians.

The video released on Saturday via Twitter by an IS spokesman was targeted at the United States, France and Canada.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton told CBS News on Monday that the video was similar to one released in September that was soon followed by lone-wolf attacks against authorities.

NYPD had “no information about any specific, credible threat to New York City driven by these events,” Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counter-terrorism John Miller told reporters on Monday, even as the city stays on guard.

Last October, one soldier died at the hands of a gunman in Ottawa, and an ax-wielding man attacked four cops on a Queens street.

“This one is also very specifically directed at law enforcement personnel, so we’re encouraging officers that when they’re on these fixed posts, that they be even more vigilant than they might ordinarily be,” Bratton said earlier.

The video also comes less than a week after two gunmen claiming to be Islamic fundamentalists killed 12 people in an attack on a satirical magazine in Paris that had published cartoons mocking the prophet Mohammed.
