Police are searching for Akeem Murphy after he allegedly hit a woman on her face aboard a subway before chasing her through a station and choking her.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, a 21-year-old woman on a northbound E train in Queens got into a dispute with Murphy, 33, while onboard the train, police reported.

After both of them exited the train at the Queens Boulevard and Union Turnpike station, police said Murphy hit the victim in her face. The woman ran through the station to the turnstiles, where he allegedly caught her from behind and began to choke her before fleeing the scene.

Murphy was last seen wearing a black do-rag, blue sneakers, purple shirt and black jeans, according to police, who also described him as 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.
