Around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Miguel Felipe, 30, gained entry into the bathroom of a New Dorp, Staten Island, apartment and assaulted a 22-year-old woman as she showered, touching her genitals and throwing her on the floor and choking her, according to police.

The victim was able to coerce Felipe into letting her up and out of the bathroom, at which point she fled from the apartment, according to police.

Running naked in the street, the victim begged for help from passersby, sources said to the New York Post. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment before being released.

The apartment, near Ebbitts Street and Hett Avenue, was shared between Felipe, a friend and the victim, the New York Daily News reported. Felipe fled the scene and remains at large.
