NYPD seeks serial ice cream bandits

Police are looking for two thieves with a sweet tooth who they say shoplifted 14 times from Manhattan drugstores — mainly in a quest for ice cream.

The suspects first struck last Nov. 16 at a CVS on Park Avenue, taking 40 containers of Haagen Daaz, along with 25 Red Bulls, police said.

They continued their crime spree through the borough, hitting 13 more CVS stores and Duane Reade locations through mid-January. The loot included nearly 1,000 Ben and Jerry’s, Haagen Daaz and Talenti ice cream products, several cans of Red Bull and Muscle Milk, and about $1,000 in cold medications.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspects captured at one of the thefts at a Duane Reade located at 67 Broad St. on Dec. 29, 2015 at about 8:40 a.m.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
