Two NYPD officers who busted an alleged fare beater on Wednesday afternoon ultimately recovered a loaded gun and a knife, police said.
Hector Cancel, 36, was stopped by two transit officers who spotted him walk through the emergency exit gate at the 2 train station at 233 Street in the Bronx without paying his fare, police said.
Police said Cancel is a “transit recidivist” and does not qualify for a summons. Once under arrest, the officers found Cancel had a loaded .45 caliber Taurus gun and a knife.
Cancel was arrested on numerous criminal possession of a weapon charges, criminal trespass and theft of service.
