A teen was killed in Queens in an overnight hit-and-run that remains under investigation.

Shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning, NYPD officers arrived at the intersection of Francis Lewis Boulevard and Sunrise Highway in Queens after receiving reports of a struck pedestrian, police stated.

At the scene, police found an unconscious 16-year-old girl who was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities have reported that an investigation revealed that a dark-colored van traveling east on Sunrise Highway hit the girl as she was walking in the crosswalk. The van then fled east on Sunrise Highway.

The investigation is ongoing, the NYPD reported.
