The NYPD is searching for an amateur boxer accused of hitting his girlfriend then fleeing. As police conduct their manhunt, doctor’s have placed the woman in a medically induced coma.

Police reported that Josh Luteran, 30, was wanted for questioning in connection to an alleged assault that took place shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday in a Brooklyn residence.

The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical but stable condition, police stated.

Luteran, a local boxer, was arguing with his girlfriend about money, police toldNBC4. Reportedly,Luteran fled the scene before authorities arrived.

His girlfriend has been placed in a medically induced coma at the hospital, ABC7 added.

Luteran was last seen wearing a black skull cap, jacket and black sweatpants, according to police.
