Police search for NYC boxer accused of punching girlfriend

The NYPD is searching for an amateur boxer accused of hitting his girlfriend then fleeing. As police conduct their manhunt, doctor's have placed the woman in a medically induced coma.

Police reported that Josh Luteran, 30, was wanted for questioning in connection to an alleged assault that took place shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday in a Brooklyn residence.

The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical but stable condition, police stated.

Luteran, a local boxer, was arguing with his girlfriend about money, police toldNBC4. Reportedly,Luteran fled the scene before authorities arrived.

His girlfriend has been placed in a medically induced coma at the hospital, ABC7 added.

Luteran was last seen wearing a black skull cap, jacket and black sweatpants, according to police.
