A Queens man is facing seriouscharges after cops say he threw a tiny dog into the ground, killing it.
The NYPD said that around 8 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, they responded to an 911 call of animal cruelty. When officers arrived on the scene, they received reports that a 32-year-old Carlos Hernandez of 73rd Streetgrabbed a Chihuahua and "slammed it to the ground causing the dog to die," cops said.

After the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the scene. Following an investigation, police located and contacted the suspect andconvinced the suspect to turn himself in atthe 112thPrecinct.
Hernandez was booked on criminal mischief and animal cruelty charges.
