Rochester police told NewYorkUpstate.com that the 45-year-old man Greece, New York, man had placed a gas can in the trunk of his car after parking at the station around 12:30 a.m.

The gas station’s owner Salem Nagi told the Democrat and Chronicle that there were indications the man may have spilled the can into the car.

“I think it spilled, that’s how his problem started,” Nagi said. “I think he spilled some gas in the car and went to light a cigarette in the car.”

On the film, the man is seen entering the driver’s side door when an explosion suddenly rips through the vehicle. He drops to the ground and rolls off camera.
