Police released surveillance video Thursday morning of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run where a 70-year-old man on a motorized scooter was critically injured.

On March 2 at about 3:46 p.m. at the intersection of 85th street and 25th Avenue in Brooklyn, a white SUV was travelling northbound on 25th Avenue when it made a right turn on 85th Street and struck the elderly man who was riding the scooter, authorities said.

The motorized scooter was in the crosswalk heading south to north at the intersection, according to police.

The driver fled the scene eastbound on 85th Street, cops said. He stopped midblock, got out of his vehicle to assess the collision, returned to his car and fled the scene heading toward Stillwell Avenue and heading east on Avenue T.
