If you ever found Times Square disorienting, wait until you step inside the plaza’s newest public artwork.
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 18, a three-sided tunnel called “The Beginning of the End” will put you at the eye of a kaleidoscope that reflects and multiplies the plaza round you on two mirrored surfaces. After you’ve got a handle of that psychedelic experience, look down: There’s a third mirror beneath your feet reflecting the sky, so you’re seeming to walk on air.
Check out the work, by Cuban artist Rachel Valdés Camejo, at the Broadway Pedestrian Plaza between 46th and 47th streets.
