Authorities are looking for a sex offender whom they said attacked the same woman twice in two weeks in Manhattan.

Jeffrey Mahon, 49, was identified by the victim as the man who first followed her and grabbed her buttocks on Tuesday, May 3, near the corner of Broadway and West 64th Street, police reported. She was able to break free from his grip and get away.

After escaping his first assault, the victim encountered Mahon again on Sunday, May 15, when she saw him near the corner of 45th Street and Eighth Avenue, police stated, adding that he again tried to touch her, but the victim got inside her car and locked the doors as he banged on the hood before fleeing.

Mahon, who has had several open-container busts and was charged for failing to register as a sex offender in New Jersey and for allegedly urinating on a police fingerprint machine in 2010, was recently kicked out of a homeless shelter, the New York Post reported.

Police told NBC4 that, despite being attacked twice by Mahon, the woman does not know him.

Mahon has been referred to by authorities as a “non-compliant sex offender,” the New York Daily News added.
