We found some delicious new ways to keep from melting in the sun.

Kings County Distilleryhas been making its award-winning whiskeys at Brooklyn Navy Yard before everyone else realized it would be the city’s next big foodie destination. Grab a spot at one of the long tables in the medieval-style courtyard of their newly renovated tasting room to enjoy what’s sure to be this summer’s star treat: whiskey ice pops. The two flavors of People’s Pops are made with the distillery’s product, with another shot of the same whiskey poured over it: blackberry mint julep with bourbon, and strawberry orange blossom with chocolate whiskey.299 Sands St., Brooklyn

Two great tastes, plus bacon

With a name likeOddFellows, the ice cream has to be weird, but collaborating with a pizza place? Of course, the ovens atRoberta’sturn out a lot more than pizza. The shops, neighbors at Grand Central-adjacent food hallUrbanspace Vanderbilt, are collaborating on an ice cream worth moving your cheat day for: Sticky Bun Bread Pudding — fluffy brioche baked with caramel and Maldon sea salt — folded into coffee ice cream and topped with smoked bacon bits. The weekends-only soft serve window at Dominique Ansel Kitchen has reopened for the season.The flavor list remains at two, but one of them is new: Salt & Pepper Caramel, garnished with devil's food cake, Maldon sea salt and a gaufrette (a crispy waffle-shaped chip). The rice pudding game got another player back in February whenRice Cream Shoppeopened in Greenwich Village. For summer, it's debuted rice milk-based gelato for the gluten-free and vegans. There are two flavors: Fior di Rosa (cream) and Dark Chocolate with chocolate chip bits, topped with anything you like from the regular rice pudding bar (though note, not all are gluten-free). Boozy snow cones

Get your cocktail as a snow cone atThe Lively. The throwback treat echoes the 1970s vibe of Meatpacking’s new live music venue. The bar makes seven varieties of sloshed slushes like the Mango Chill (Old Forester bourbon, mango purée, Angostura bitters) and Piña Sno-lada (Bacardi white rum, pineapple juice, coconut milk). A spin on à la mode

Having a new High Line-adjacentAmple Hills Creameryis a promising start to warm weather season. There’s the requisite location-specific flavor, Floatin’ Over the High Line: root beer ice cream, mini marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles. But the main event is their collaboration with comfort food mainstayBubby’s, combining the best of their worlds into build-your-own shakes that blend an entire slice of apple, sour cherry, chocolate-peanut butter or banoffee pie with any ice cream.73 Gansevoort St.

Customizableice cream bars

Magnumhas brought a customizable ice cream “dipping bar” to SoHo for a summer-long pop-up. Your vanilla bean or chocolate bar gets hand-dipped in dark, milk or white Belgian chocolate, then covered in exotic toppings like espresso sugar and rose petals. Paleo scoops

The star at new Paleo kitchenSpringbonemay be the bone broths, but they know the end of the meal calls for something sweet. The Greenwich Village restaurant has created two flavors of Paleo--approved “ice cream” sweetened with raw honey: dark chocolate (frozen avocado and cocoa powder) and berry (frozen bananas and organic raspberry puree).90 W. Gelato on the go

Whole Foods Market is bringing Nolita’s Brazilian gelato shopBiagiout onto the sidewalk. Two carts will be set up in front of the grocer’s Tribeca and Upper East Side locations, selling their classics like vegan almond and forest mint chocolate chip alongside seasonal flavors in cones, cups and pints. The carts will be out from 12-7 p.m. through the end of summer.270 Greenwich St., 1551 Third Ave.​
