A Brooklyn woman faces a murder charge in connection with the stabbing death of a 22-year-old mother whose child sat nearby in a stroller as the killing occurred, police said Wednesday.
Shenia Williams, 20, of Saratoga Avenue, is accused of stabbing Joann Beauzier in the chest just before 1 a.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of Lott Avenue and Bristol Street in the Brownsville neighborhood.
Beauzier’s 9-month-old child sat in a stroller at her mother’s side when the stabbing occurred, according to news media reports. Police said the child was placed in the custody of the father.
Witnesses had told police they saw two women run from the scene after the stabbing.

Police charged Williams with second-degree murder and first-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
