The Yankees continued their big league roster purge Monday, shipping outfielder Carlos Beltran to the Rangers in exchange for Dillon Tate and other prospects, according to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan.
Tate is a 22-year-old right-handed pitcher and was selected fourth overall by the Rangers in the 2015 MLB Draft.
Beltan had been having a terrific year with the Yankees as he owned a .304 batting average and had belted 22 home runs. The well-traveled Beltran is now on hisseventh different big league club.
