Walker Zimmerman might be the next Yank abroad as the FC Dallas defender is possibly heading to the German Bundesliga.

The 23-year old central defender from Georgia just earned his first appearance with the United States national team last month, this after an impressive 2016 season with his club team. Now league sources tell Metro that Zimmerman is being tracked by two clubs in the second-tier of the Bundesliga, both with a heavy interest in the savvy young centerback.

The source, speaking to Metro on the condition of anonymity, said that Hannover and Stuttgart are both tracking the former U-20 national team member. Both sides are at the top of the second division, with Hannover four points up in first place and Stuttgart chipping away, currently in third as they sit just six points back in the promotion race.

Both clubs could certainly be in the Bundesliga next season, considered one of the best leagues in the world if not the best from top to bottom.

In Zimmerman, the interest is certainly understandable as he is a player with impressive youth national team experience who already has 68 professional appearances (54 starts) for one of the best teams in MLS. He also boasts good size, is strong in the air and reads the game well.

This past weekend in the first match of his MLS season, Zimmerman started and went 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy.
