Police in Chilliwack are on the hunt for two men and a white Jeep Cherokee seen leaving the scene of what appears to have been a gang-related shooting early yesterday.
Gunfire erupted around 3 a.m. at a home on Vedder Road.
RCMP Const. Lea-Anne Dunlop said a 19-year-old man, who was known to police, was shot several times. He was airlifted to hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
“The suspects … forced their way into the residence and shot the victim multiple times,” Dunlop said.
“It is believed at this time that this was an unsuccessful targeted hit that is linked to gang activity and the drug trade.”
She said police are trying to determine if the incident is linked to other Lower Mainland targeted shootings.
