Mississauga-based Subaru Canada Inc. has set a $25,795 to $34,895 price range for its new third-generation 2009 Forester model, now appearing in showrooms across the country.
Lower than its predecessor, the new Forester sits on a longer new platform that improves ride as well as interior space, especially rear seat legroom.
The well-equipped “base” Forester 2.5X has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $25,795 when fitted with the standard manual transmission — that’s $1,200 less than the ’08 model. Starting at $27,995, the Forester 2.5X Touring model is $1,000 less than before. The step-up 2.5X Limited is equipped with extra features, yet at $32,395 starts at $3,700 less than the previous version. And the loaded Forester 2.5XT Limited retails for $34,895 — a whopping $4,100 less than the model it replaces.
