A 21-year-old man is facing several charges including assault with a weapon after Halifax RCMP say someone chased another male down a residential street in Cole Harbour with a knife.

Police say the incident took place Monday at about 4 p.m. on Arklow Drive.

Police say when they responded, the 21-year-old suspect was located at a nearby residence and arrested.

The 17-year-old victim suffered minor injuries that didn’t require medical attention.

The 21-year-old is also facing charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, resisting arrest and breaching his recognizance.

He has been released with a promise to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
