1. Escape of the elephants
Three circus elephants made a break for it in St. Charles, Mo. The elephants walked out of the children’s ride in the Moolah Shrine Circus and into the parking lot. Unfortunately for these wild runaways, it’s hard to escape when you’re bigger than the cars. No one was hurt and the elephants were returned without any bumps or scratches. The cars, however, were not so lucky.
2. Hostage by house cat
An Oregon family called 911 reporting that they were being held hostage by their angry house cat. After the 22-pound Himalayan housecat scratched the family’s 7-month-old newborn, the mother kicked the cat, which made him so angry he began to hiss and corner the family. The couple, with their newborn baby and dog, hid in their bedroom and called 911. After two policemen arrived, they caged the ferocious feline and "put him behind bars" so to speak.
“It could have been catastrophic,” one of the policemen reportedly said.
3. Rescued Joey gets a little 'roode'
We can all get a little pushy when our personal space is invaded, and it’s no different for this baby kangaroo in the Wild About Wildlife Animal Shelter near Victoria, Australia. This photo was snapped after the adorable joeys – named Gladys, George and Lillian – were rescued from bush fires in Australia and taken into the shelter. The residents of the shelter may have a little diva on their hands, or at least a baby roo that doesn’t look like she’ll be sharing a pouch with her siblings.
4. Recruiting walrus?
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh went face-to-face with a walrus in a pushup contest. The walrus, named “Siku,” lives at the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and kept up well with the 49ers coach. According to NBC Bay Area, Harbaugh was visiting the Discovery Kingdom with his family and was not on a scouting trip. Although the 1,750-pound walrus would make a great addition to San Francisco’s football team, Harbaugh has no plans of recruiting Siku.
5. Python passenger
Jimmy Failla, not to be confused with Jimmy Fallon, is a comedian/cab driver in New York City who found it quite funny to prank people with a 10-foot snake in his taxicab. On March 8, Failla hired a snake handler to ride around with him in a yellow cab. When unsuspecting customers saw the albino python sneaking up on them, they freaked out. Their reactions were captured on camera and the footage went viral. However, it’s safe to say that Failla’s prank was a Fail-la. After a settlement conference in Manhattan, the former-cab driver had his license suspended for two years.
