We assume the smell of Scotch whisky will linger in New Jersey for a while.

A tanker truck filled with 6,000 gallons of Scotch whisky overturned and caught fire on King Georges Road in New Jersey.

The truck, owned by B-Line Trucking in Newark, was driving through the mixed residential and commercial neighborhood when it overturned, Police Capt. Roy Hoppock said. It is not yet clear where the truck was headed.

According to reports Chief Dan Gregan of Fords Fire Co. said the truck was making a turn when “it clipped a telephone pole, hit a parked Cadillac and ignited.”

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries. It is not yet clear how much whiskey was lost or what brand it was.

Cheers to no major injuries.
