Ground will still be broken for a new city health centre this fall after Premier Ed Stelmach announced the proposed facility will receive an extra $332 million in funding.
The top-up is meant to cover inflating construction costs and will bring the total cost of the project to $909 million.

“We’re committed to the project and this will give assurance to the capital region that it’s a go-ahead,” Stelmach said yesterday.
The Edmonton Clinic will be built near the University of Alberta hospital and is expected to open by 2011.
The facility will add 800 training spaces and free up 140 acute care beds in the city, while also housing diagnostic and day clinic services.
