911 call released in girl’s death

Police in Washington state have released the recording of the 911 callmade by the mother of a five-year-old Abbotsford girl killed while onvacation.

Police in Washington state have released the recording of the 911 call made by the mother of a five-year-old Abbotsford girl killed while on vacation.

Sarah Wilson, a trained nurse, can be heard screaming hysterically as she tries to save her daughter, Clare Shelswell, in the 23-minute recording. The girl’s stepfather, Peter James Wilson, has confessed to slashing her throat, police say.

The girl’s biological father, James Shelswell, told media yesterday that Wilson should be given the death penalty for the crime.

The alleged murder happened on Sunday night while the family vacationed in in Lake Cushman, west of Seattle.

After the arrest, Wilson reportedly told police he is bipolar. His next court appearance is July 12.
