We have our heart set on soup but their soup special is sold out, so we start with a small Somosa each. Made with lentils and veggies, they’re tasty and mildly spicy.

I have the Roasted Vegetable Pizza, a delicious concoction of zucchini, red pepper, mushrooms and eggplant with cheese and pesto on a thin crust. My side green salad is lovely and shows how a few special ingredients — walnuts, cranberries and apple —- can make a simple salad more appetizing. My pal has a day-old (1/2 price) sandwich — Swiss Cheese and Ham on thick whole-wheat bread. It’s fine and filling.

We sip on coffee and hot apple cider and linger at a window table. It’s that kind of place.
