You wouldn’t know we’re in a recession if you hit the Calgary Woman’s Show this weekend, according to show organizers.
Show manager Karen Cooke said “thousands” of women, and even some men and kids, walked through the 18th annual spring show this weekend.
“People were out in droves, and exhibitors too. There are women carrying shopping bags all over the place. People are spending money,” Cooke said of the success of this year’s event.
“It’s really grown a lot and our spring show is almost as big at the fall show now.”
Fashion shows were a popular draw this weekend, and Cooke said many men even took in the experience that featured both local designers and big industry names.
