A tool for consumers

Industry professionals are giving consumers a resource to ensure the craftsmanship of their homes is not being left to chance.

Industry professionals are giving consumers a resource to ensure the craftsmanship of their homes is not being left to chance.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association, or CHBA, has launched its Look for the Logo campaign, which draws consumers’ attention to the CHBA’s distinctive symbol.

Members of the association adhere to a strict code of excellence in their work and supplies.

“The campaign is to educate consumers about who we are,” said CHBA president Sandra Young.

“(We’re) trying to get consumers to do research on their contractors.”

Now if a prospective client is looking to get renovations done, for example, the CHBA logo will give notice the renovator has been recognized by peers in the building community.

“I think it’s important for consumers,” Young said. All CHBA Builders provide third-party warranty coverage as a mandatory condition of membership.
