A wedding night to remember

Walking into ModaColombia on Lacewood Drive is like stepping through a portal to a chic South American boutique. Latin Music floods the airwaves, freshly brewed Colombian coffee smells terrific and stunning lingerie, accessories, bags, shoes and boots are a treat to any fashionista’s eyes.

And for the blushing bride preparing for her wedding night, ModaColombia has everything she could possibly need, right down to the frilly, lace garter.

Business partners Stewart Greig and Gerald Sullivan knew this particular niche needed to be filled in HRM.

“The textile industry is immense in South America, in particular Medellin, Colombia, and as far as fashion goes, they have become the world’s number two city in the fashion industry — Milan, Italy being number one,” Nicole Greig, store manager, explains.
“It all started with a line of lingerie, sexy, yet functional, but Gerald didn’t stop there — when he visited the malls he was amazed at the high-quality clothing and accessories that were available. They were very unique and he thought Halifax would appreciate such handmade quality products with fashion-forward styles.

“Oh, and don’t forget about the men,” she continues. “Although the initial intent was to start a high-quality lingerie business, ModaColombia also has men’s products from fashionable jeans to casual and stylish shoes and quality belts made of 100 per cent Italian leather.”

With the wide selection at ModaColombia, both the bride and the groom can find just what they’re looking for.

ModaColombia brings the unique, high-fashion experience of South America to Clayton Park. Open since November 2007, ModaColombia is experiencing positive word-of-mouth advertising from impressed customers.
