A festival of light is taking place in Yaletown this Saturday as Canada Line construction nears completion in the trendy neighbourhood.

For more than a year, local businesses had to endure road closures and reduced access. Illuminate Yaletown is expected to light up the area with new and returning patrons.

The 27 light installations are designed and developed by artists, architects, and pyrotechnicians and are combined with music and interactive activities.

Annette O’Shea, executive director, said the event is co-sponsored by Canada Line.

“We live in such a great province, but there aren’t that many outdoor winter events to showcase it,” she said yesterday.
