The second poster in a campaign to discourage youth from joining gangs was launched by the Abbotsford Police Department yesterday.

It came hours after a man with “an extensive history with police” was shot in the foot outside a marijuana grow-op in Abbotsford. While it’s too early to tell if the shooting was targeted, police say it seems that way.

Drugs fuel the gang life, which, police say, needs to be debated with youth so they learn it could lead to an early death.

Poster No. 2 in Operation Tarnish: Taking the Shine off the Gang Lifestyle, shows a man’s back with the words “gang thug” around a target.
