AC/DC is in Vancouver working on a new album expected to be released later this year, according to a posting on the group’s website.
This will be the Australian band’s first album since 2000.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are working on the untitled project with producer Brendan O’Brien, who has recorded such acts as
Pearl Jam and Bruce Spring-
AC/DC’s last album of new material, Stiff Upper Lip, opened at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in March 2000, and inspired a yearlong world tour.

The new album will be AC/DC’s first for Sony BMG’s Epic Records label, which reissued the band’s back catalog a few years ago.
