The problem many people find with Indian buffets is the food can be heavy and laden in creamy sauces.
That’s not the case here at Aroma, located in the Entertainment District on King Street West.
The fresh food served at the Lunch Buffet ($10.95/person — offered daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) is only enlivened by the sauces, not drowned by them, and with our plates piled high with almost every item from the buffet, we feel satisfied, not weighed down, by the time we finish.
Like most buffets, there are highs and lows.
The Tandoori Chicken, Okra Do Peaza, Goat Masala, Chicken Masala and Fish Curry are worth going back for — rich, complex flavours that differ from dish to dish, and the sensuous textures — oh my!
Pass on the less enticing Matar Paneer, Butter Chicken and Chana Masala.
A wide selection of rice, pakoras and samosas, naan, salads, chutneys and desserts round out the meal.
We’re delightfully full and feeling good.
For once, you don’t have to compromise taste for price.
