LAC LA BICHE, Alta. - A school bus driver has been suspended indefinitely after a four-year-old boy was left on a bus for nearly seven hours north of Edmonton.
The child was found in Lac La Biche (BISH) last Thursday suffering from slight hypothermia and dehydration.
He was discovered by the driver who was starting the afternoon run.
The boy's parents say the youngster was put on the bus in the morning to attend a pre-school program, but he never showed up for class.
The Northern Lights School Division says it's investigating to determine why the child was left on the bus.
Cheryl Hunter, a division spokeswoman, says it's policy for drivers to do a seat check after each shift.
